Commission for Women of the Diocese of Worcester, MA.
We hope you will find all the information you need
regarding the activities of the Commission and how it serves Catholic
women of the Worcester, Massachusetts Diocese.
The
Commission for
Women of the Diocese of Worcester
is an advisory group for the Bishop of Worcester, focusing on
issues affecting women in
the church and in society. The Commission
has conducted a number of educational programs for Catholic women, and
has directed studies on women's issues in the Church and social justice
issues.
The Commission’s main event is the
Gather Us In Conference, which
is held every other year at the DCU Center in Worcester.
Gather Us In
2009
is designed to bring women of the Catholic faith together for a day of
reflection, learning, discussion, and enlightenment, all in the service
of enriching our spiritual lives. This has always been a very popular
event, attracting approximately 500 women to each conference.
The theme for the
2009 conference is "The Triumph of Forgiveness: Sharing Stories of
Compassion" with keynote speakers
Paula D'Arcy and
Immaculée
Ilibagiza.
Gather Us In
is the pioneering women’s conference in
New England.
The focus of this
year’s Conference is on Forgiveness. Keynote speakers include well-known
authors
Paula D'Arcy
and
Immaculee
Ilibagiza.
