Commission for Women of the Diocese of Worcester, MA.

We hope you will find all the information you need regarding the activities of the Commission and how it serves Catholic women of the Worcester, Massachusetts Diocese.

The Commission for Women of the Diocese of Worcester is an advisory group for the Bishop of Worcester, focusing on issues affecting women in the church and in society. The Commission has conducted a number of educational programs for Catholic women, and has directed studies on women's issues in the Church and social justice issues.

The Commission’s main event is the Gather Us In Conference, which is held every other year at the DCU Center in Worcester. Gather Us In 2009 is designed to bring women of the Catholic faith together for a day of reflection, learning, discussion, and enlightenment, all in the service of enriching our spiritual lives. This has always been a very popular event, attracting approximately 500 women to each conference. The theme for the 2009 conference is "The Triumph of Forgiveness: Sharing Stories of Compassion" with keynote speakers Paula D'Arcy and Immaculée Ilibagiza. Gather Us In is the pioneering women’s conference in New England.

The focus of this year’s Conference is on Forgiveness. Keynote  speakers include well-known authors Paula D'Arcy and Immaculee Ilibagiza. More information will be forthcoming in the months to come.
